Tourist visits

We are located in Dordogne, west side of the "Purple Périgord" known for his purple/red wine, and for his great philosopher Michel de Montaigne. Close by is the famous Saint Emilion village and et the "Libournais" wine region with all the charm of the great wines. A little furhter on the west side is Bordeaux and the Ocean coast. Beautiful beaches are just 2 hours away.
On the east side, lies Bergerac where marvelous sceneries start along the Dordogne that will enchant you.

"Pays de Montaigne et Gurson":

But before going any further, don't forget to visit Montpeyroux village with its lovely roman chuch and cimetery. The beautiful castle of Matecoulon which used to belong to Michel de Montaigne's brother is now owned by a family and cannot be visited inside.
Then you can go to Michel de Montaigne's castle in the village of Saint Michel de Montaigne where you can visit its very inspiring library.

Saint-Emilion and the Libournais:

Two kilometers and you leave the Dordogne to enter the Gironde! If you are a wine lover you will enjoy all the wine makers'visits and the great chateaus around Saint Emilion. But the region has also other cultural attractions.

Bergerac region:

By going along the Dordogne river, one enters the hart of the Bergerac country, also known for its wine and rich in traditions such as tabacco and lime and many other productions.
